Stephen is a highly experienced European Patent Attorney and Chartered UK Patent Attorney, and a Director of YUJA IP LAW, where he leads the patent team.

Stephen's practice focuses on patent prosecution and portfolio development. He acts for a broad range of clients, including universities, start-ups and large corporations, across a diverse spectrum of technologies such as mechanics, aeronautics, materials, software, data processing, security, networking, computer imaging, 3D printing, telecommunications and computer modelling.

Stephen studied at Imperial College London, where he gained a first-class degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in the simulation of turbulent flows. His doctoral research involved developing mathematical modelling methods and implementing them in parallelised code for high-performance computing.

Before entering the patent profession, Stephen was a recipient of the prestigious Daiwa Scholarship, awarded by the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation, and spent nearly two years living and studying in Japan.
